School Supplies for Chicago

About

The Bud Billiken® Parade is the largest African American parade in the United States. One of the main resources that Chicago Defender Charities’ (Charities) partners provide to the community is school supplies. The Charities and its partners are working together to expand this program beyond the day of the parade. 

The School Supplies for Chicago Program provides much-needed support for our communities through collections from school supply drives, and generous back-to-school promotions from our corporate partners. The general public will also be able to individually donate by going to participating partner locations as well as donating online. Our goal is to give away one million back to school ready backpacks (with supplies) to under-resourced youth in Chicago.
